THE WORD
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth.

Arise and Build
April 9, 2006

Sunday April 9, 2006

Pastor John Omewah
Topic: Arise and Build

Text: Isaiah 55: 8-13, Nehemiah 2: 1-9

God has a need and one of them is that souls be won into the kingdom. Unfortunately, he can’t come down from heaven and do this himself, so he has a need to us to go out there and preach the gospel. Sadly, the more we try to advertise Jesus to the world, the more they try to take the focus of him. God is also seeking for true worshippers that would worship him in Spirit and in truth in his sanctuary.

Building for the Lord is a privilege and you should be excited at every opportunity to do so because it is a way of opening the windows of heaven for blessings to shower on you. When the children of Israel wanted to build for the Lord, they gave so much that they had excess and Moses had to command them not to bring anymore. All you need to build for the Lord is a willing heart. Remember the children of Israel were traveling through the wilderness, they had no jobs or source of income, they were slaves coming out of Egypt, yet they were able to give because God saw they had a willingly heart and he provided.

As you meet the needs of others, God will meet your needs. The widow of Zarephath met the need of Elijah by making him her last meal; God turned around and met her need also by getting her out of debt. Another example is the Shunamite woman, she met the need of the man of God by providing him a shelter, and God met hers by giving her child. One challenge we face is understanding how God works. Isaiah 55:8 -13 tells us that his ways are not ours, neither are his thoughts and as the heavens are as far from the earth so are his thoughts from ours. God’s way is unique and different. What you need to do is just trust him because he will never let you down.

In Nehemiah chapter 2, Nehemiah had a willing heart to build for God and God granted him favor before the king and provided all that he needed to accomplish this mission. The law of harvest cannot be broken, if you sow, you will definitely reap. Every opportunity to sow and build for God is an opportunity for increase. You must operate under the law to begin to experience the unlimited blessings of God when you arise and build for him.
